On May 27-30, the partners of Water2Return, AlgEn and Enco, were involved in a special session on Saltgae project - presenting European innovative algae wastewater treatment technology, in the scope of EU project seminar. This seminar was held withi nthe 27th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition in Lisbon (Portugal). Water2Return project was presented in the session.
The theme of this year’s conference was the role of biomass in delivering the Paris targets and sustainable development goals. The sessions were set on biomass resources, biomass conversion technologies for heating, cooling and electricity, biomass conversion technologies for energy carriers, chemicals and materials, biomass sustainability, impacts and policies, and bioenergy integration in energy systems (industry sessions).
Regarding the Saltage project, it aims to develop and demonstrate a techno-economically viable solution for the treatment of saline wastewater. Moreover, this project will represent a case study for demonstration of SaltGae solutions to the cross-cutting barriers to innovation identified in the European Innovation Partnership on Water (EIP Water).
