KIMITEC presented Water2REturn at Fruit Atracttion 2017, within its IV Convention of Applied Biotechnology
Fruit Attraction is one of the most important international trade shows for the fruit and vegetable industry. The last edition took place in the convention center of IFEMA (Madrid, Spain) from October 18-20, 2017. An area for showing new fruit and vegetable varieties and novelties from the Auxiliary Industry (biostimulant and fertilizer producers, agricultural machinery, etc.). This last edition gathered more than 1500 enterprises and lured more than 60.000 visitors from all over the World.
Kimitec Group was present for their third consecutive year publicizing some of their most important products and projects, with an impressive stand within the IFEMA´s halls. Taking advantage of this important trade fair, Kimitec Group also scheduled its IV Convention of Applied Biotechnology. Almost two hundred specialists of the agribusiness sector attended this convention, focused on agriculture and its implication in human health. Several specialists were invited to talk about agricultural biostimulants (Juan Parrado, University of Seville, Spain), microalgal cultures (Rafael García, University of Almeria, Spain) and soil probiotics (Manuel Ferrer, CSIC, Spain).
This convention highlighted the relevance of biotechnology to increase crop production, improve nutritional values of vegetables and fruits, and reduce the environmental impact of the agricultural business. The Water2Return project was shown as an example of circular economy involving microalgae culturing, probiotic production, and green chemistry.
