In the context of Porto Water Innovation Week 2017 and the EIP Water Conference, the European Commission invited Water2REturn project to a public event on September 29th, 2017 called “Boosting Innovation in the Water Sector: The Impact of EU-funded actions”.
The event brought together stakeholders representing different water-related EU funded projects with the objective to maximise the impact of water research and innovation actions. Participants of different EU programmes and initiatives shared their achievements and experiences, discussed and highlighted the key enabling factors and barriers for innovations to reach the market and saw how research and innovation actions can effectively support policy making.
Other relevant stakeholders such as investors, regulators, policy makers, innovation hubs, industrial partners and SMEs joined the discussion and brought forward their views and perspectives.
The event was organised by the European Commission's Directorate General for Research and Innovation and the Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME) in collaboration with the EIP Water.
